Michaela Eugster

Relief Veterinary Technician Assistant

Michaela was raised in northern Wisconsin but she spent most of her childhood traveling the country with her mom. She and her mom competed in dogsled races for 18 years and had about 30 Alaskan Huskies at any given time. In addition to the sled dogs, she and her mom also raised and competed with their show dogs; Bull Mastiffs, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Giant Schnauzers, Yorkshire Terrier’s, Biewer Terriers, Labrador Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, and Beaucerons. Talk about a childhood dream! When she wasn’t playing with all the dogs, she was out riding her horses. Her mom was a horse trainer and Michaela became an exceptional equestrian in no time.

After graduating high school, Michaela moved to Idaho where she attended Boise State and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She moved to Colorado after college and worked as an Ecological Research Technician for the National Ecological Observatory Network. She then moved to Oregon to work as a Biological Field Technician for Fish and Wildlife as well as experimenting with working at a winery in the Willamette Valley. She has explored many avenues of her interests and has found herself in a very fitting position working here at Rimrock. Her background working with animals and compassion for their needs makes her an excellent addition to our team.

When she is not at the clinic, she is running her dog training business; Summit Homestead, and raising Australian Shepherds and Beaucerons. She enjoys skijoring, bikejoring, horseback riding, rock climbing, hunting, fishing, and hiking, and takes her dogs everywhere she goes!
